Buddy Building

Today’s poem is a contribution from Genevieve Menyhart, 10 year old daughter of Associate Librarian Karen Menyhart.  Karen is the creative talent behind most of our floats in the Homecoming Parade and many of the big productions in the Children’s Department.  It’s a creative family. Karen says Genevieve is the literary talent of the Menyhart clan.  The poet is currently a fourth grader at St. Raphael’s School where she wrote this acrostic poem.

Buddy Building

Building a tree house outside in the sun, sipping lemonade and having some fun.

Under the umbrella to keep the cooling shade, watching our wonderful tree house being made.

Doing the best we can, using screws, nails and wood with our very own hands.

Did you see the lock on the door? It’s pretty tight, it should hold for the entire night.

You step aside from your tools to see what you’ve mad while you sip a glass of cool lemonade.
